Wyl Colgrove 1/25/09

A week ago Friday, we awakened at 3:00 a. M., (Bill had had 3 hours sleep, I had 2) Heidi picked us up by 3:30 a.m. And took us to the Indy airport. The traveling was thankfully uneventful, everything on time, no hazards. Bill slept most of the flights, I slept some but mostly took pictures from the window. Philip picked us up at the Salt Lake airport and drove us to Bill's brother's (Jim) place after picking up his own wife, Heather. We spent the evening finalizing arrangements and practicing musical numbers for the funeral which was the next day. By the time we got to put our heads to pillows, I had been awake 24 hours after only 2 hours sleep.
The funeral went well, but Bill's dad didn't look like himself. He ALWAYS had a smile on his face, and that was missing. The rest of that Saturday and all Sunday after church, we enjoyed visiting with Bill's family. Sunday night we stayed at Philip's apartment, spent all day Monday with them (including driving through freezing mountain roads with the convertible top down, having dinner with one of our best friends, then off to the airport Tuesday morning. At least we didn't have to leave quite as early. 6 a.m. Is much better than 3 a.m.!!!
Our mission at the library ends in two weeks. It looks like we may not need to train the new couple as there may be changes in the way things are done. So we will just need to finish up loose ends on the things we had been doing. Not sure if we can get that done in two weeks, but will get through it all as quickly as we can.
Love to All,
Wyl
